I’ve wanted to try George’s Restaurant in Waco for some time and we finally had an opportunity to try their second location in West Waco. We stopped for a late lunch on Thursday. The lunch crowd was already gone, and we were seated right away. Our server, Brittany, was amazing. She was very friendly and helpful with the menu since it was our first time. She made it an enjoyable dining experience and when we go back, we will ask for Brittany! We were given jalapeno cheese cornbread while we waited for our food. We both liked the cornbread, especially with the whipped butter that was served with it. For our meals, I got the Southwest Chicken Club, and my wife got the lunch portion of Chicken Fried Steak. My sandwich did not come with a side, but it was a great chicken sandwich. With avocado, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey lime dressing, it was a well put together sandwich with great flavors. The lunch portion Chicken Fried Steak was only 8.25....WHAT???? That’s right, I don’t think we have seen a better lunch menu deal out there. You’ll spend more than that at every fast-food restaurant. Not only was it a great deal, it was also very good. My wife got the buttered sweet corn and French fries as her sides. She got the French fries to share with me, since my sandwich didn’t come with a side, and it was more than enough for both of us. The chicken fried steak was tender and the breading and cream gravy were both very good. We had absolutely no criticism for our entire meal. And for a first time, we both ordered dessert because my wife couldn’t resist getting the peach cobbler. The peach cobbler came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and it was really good. I ordered the Big “O” Sundae. It comes with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, strawberries, pecans, and whipped cream. One word...Awesome! We had a great meal at George’s #2. When we are back in the Waco area, we’ll definitely come back and hopefully bring our whole family. Bottom Line, GO eat at George’s!

Our server, Alyssa, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect from beginning to end. Genuine hospitality like that is hard to come by! Had a great experience at George's #2! The food was on point as always, but what really made our visit stand out was the service. Our server Alyssa was fantastic. George's is more of a cafe feel, and I usually sit at the bar. Liver and onions were cooked just right, and a good size serving. Full meal for 15, where else you going to get that! Service is always good.

Just as good as it was 20 years ago! Cold Shiner schooners, cool vibe, and great food! Patio seating on a beautiful day is just the best! The menu is huge and has sooo many things! Service is excellent and plenty of seating whether you want indoor restaurant, at the bar area or the covered patio semi outside. Highly recommend George's.

I am a frequent visitor! I enjoy the atmosphere and the cold beer! Also, every time I go i get the best waitress, Dominique! She has been the best waitress by far! So friendly and great service! Each time has been a great experience and the staff has been amazing everytime! If there is ever an issue they are great with addressing it with no hesitation! Love George's and will continue to make it my after work stop!

I've been to George's several times, and the food has not disappointed. The chicken fried steak is the best I'm waco. I've also had the Philly cheese steak. Jimmy was our waiter, and he did a fantastic job. His hospitality was welcoming and engaging. Thanks, Jimmy, for a great dining experience.

Good Food, Good Vibes, and Texas Comfort on a Plate George’s Bar & Grill knows how to do comfort food right. We stopped in for a laid-back dinner, and it turned out to be one of those meals where you leave full, happy, and already planning your next visit. I had the catfish basket, and let me tell you—it was fried to perfection. Crispy golden crust on the outside, tender and flaky catfish on the inside. No grease, just straight-up flavor. Paired it with garlic mashed potatoes, which were creamy, rich, and had just enough bite to let that garlic shine through. It hit the spot. My wife went with the steak finger basket and a side of mac and cheese, and she was all smiles. The steak fingers were hearty, well-seasoned, and had that satisfying crunch you want from Southern-style comfort food. And the mac and cheese? Creamy, cheesy, and made like someone’s grandma was back there stirring the pot. The atmosphere was just as good as the food—casual, friendly, and buzzing with that local charm that makes you feel right at home. Service was quick and on point, and the prices were more than fair for the portions we got. George’s is one of those places that doesn’t need to be flashy—it wins you over with flavor, comfort, and consistency. If you’re in the mood for Southern favorites served with a smile, this place is a must-visit.
